Model: CPE210
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.2.0 Build 20190125 Rel. 36261 (0000)

Hey there. I'm having some connectivity instability between two CPE210 antennas I've bought recently, and I'd like to check if there's a firmware upgrade for them. The prolem is - I bought them from a shop in Brazil, but the hardware version is V3, which is not sold here; so I'm assuming they're from another region.

Is there a way to figure out what's the right firmware for them? The shop where I bought them hasn't replied my emails and so far I found the UN and EU versions. They were shipped with 2.2.0 Build 20190125 Rel. 36261 (0000), IC 8853A-CPE210, FCC ID TE7CPE210V3

Thank you!

@vsav

Your CPE210 should be UN because the firmware is 20190125 Rel. 36261 (0000) and 0000 mean UN.

You can find the new firmware on the offical web.

Latest firmware for CPE210 V3 is Pharos V2.2.1:

https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201907/20190725/CPE210(EU)_V3.0_2.2.1%20Build%20190620.zip

Latest firmware for CPE210 V3.20 is Pharos V2.2.0:

https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201910/20191009/CPE210(UN)_V3.2_2.2.0%20Build%20190815.zip

You can try whether Pharos 2.2.1 for CPE hardware V3.0 will install on hardware V3.20, too. If it does not fit, the CPE will refuse to install it.

The shop where I bought them hasn't replied my emails and so far I found the UN and EU versions.

Pharos devices store region information in a separate partition of their flash rom, not in the firmware. Thus, there are no different firmware versions needed for EU/US regions, they are always UN (»universal«, meaning one firmware only for any region). The firmware will adapt itself to the correct region according to the region information in the flash rom.

TP-Link Argentina once managed to offer three differently named ZIP archives, one for EU, one for US and one for UN devices, which all three contained the exact same UN firmare image (see this post).
