Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20150714 Rel.61832(s)

I have been fighting a situation on my network where it will occasionally hang and reboots are required. I have 2 SG2216 switches - one at .250, and one at .251

I turned on syslog monitoring and the only odd thing i see are messages like this - and a lot of them:

Aug 23 08:33:10 2019-08-23 08: 36:47 X.X.X.250 71565 The switch has learned a new MAC address 00:fc:8b:d1:e4:8a, vid:1, interface:port 10.
Aug 23 08:33:15 2019-08-23 08: 33:14 X.X.X.251 71565 The switch has learned a new MAC address 00:fc:8b:d1:e4:8a, vid:1, interface:port 1.
Aug 23 08:33:34 2019-08-23 08: 33:33 X.X.X.251 71565 The switch has learned a new MAC address 00:fc:8b:d1:e4:8a, vid:1, interface:port 1.
Aug 23 08:33:34 2019-08-23 08: 37:11 X.X.X.250 71565 The switch has learned a new MAC address 00:fc:8b:d1:e4:8a, vid:1, interface:port 10.

It seems odd to me that the switch is re-learning this same MAC address all within 24 seconds of each other. It does these same bursts about every 5 minutes.

Is this normal - or is it a clue to what might be causing me issues?

Thanks for any assistance.

The switch needs to maintain the MAC table for layer 2 transmission. The MAC address will age unless static MAC address. Maybe the MAC address is aging so the switch will learn the MAC address again. Or your port status is up and down then learn the MAC address again. So this may not be the cause of the issue. If you are convenient, maybe you can post your configuration then we can have a look.
