HS110(EU) Ver 2.0 - switches off power after few seconds
Hi,
Couldn't find a similar issue on the forum.
My HS110 worked well for 2 months with a Schedule. Suddenly it wasn't able to switch on anymore for longer than 2-10 seconds.
Wifi is still connected and no issue at all. Firmware version 1.5.4. which seems to be the last one.
Removed the schedule, did factory reset, changed power outlets, but still same issue.
Any ideas?
Best regards
Rob

Hey Ryan, I tried several devices plugged into the smart plug...ranges from lights to ipad..nothing heavy.
The strange thing is that it worked smoothly before, but suddenly stopped working.
And it is still able to switch on for a few seconds, both from the Kasa app as well by pushing the button on the smart plug itself. In both situations it will turn off power after a few seconds while the wifi connection is still there and visible on the button (green wifi connection sign)

Hi,
What is the led status of the HS110 when the issue happens?
Have you setup any advanced features before? Like schedule or away mode?
What about the current wifi signal strength? You can go to device settings page to find it and please export it to us.
Besides, what is the mac address of HS110?
Good day.

Hello
I also have this issue. Difference is that it likes to switch off randomly - sometimes after few seconds sometimes few minutes or hours - it does so even when nothing is plugged in to it. It was working with schedule - it supposed to turn off in the evening and turn on in the morning. Was this resolved somehow? What i did so far:
- updated firmware to latest 1.5.4
- tried few different sockets
- removed plug from kasa and added it again (+factory defaults)
LED status - wifi on - plug on then it shuts down - wifi stays on - Signal strenght vary from best to low as i was trying different sockets.
ANy suggestions ?

I have the same problem. A few seconds after the power is turned on, it automatically turns off again. AsS well as via App as well as hardware switch on the plug. I also tried different sockets. With load and no load, but always the same problem. I've already removed the device several times from the app and added it again. I do not have a schedule or task running or anything like that.
It really is very frustrating because it makes the device completely useless.
Is there no further diagnostic capability, any error codes, why the device turns off? Or a log that explains what triggers the turning off?
There are already so many people with this problem that it already has to be known and I would expect from TP-Link that the problem is meanwhile reproducible and a more accurate diagnosis should be available.
Is it a software or hardware problem? Is there hope for a fix via firmware update or does the device need to be replaced?

Could you please elaborate it? More specific symptoms will be better.
Besides, what is the current hardware and firmware version of HS110?
Have you ever tried to hard reset it by holding the settings button for 10s and reconfigure it?
Did you try to swap the locations of these plugs? What will happen then?

Some details.
I have 3 TP link smartplugs HS110
they are all on HW2.0 and FW 1.5.4
I only have them a couple of weeks, but all went well.
And then, out of the blue one of them swithes off each time after about 10 seconds.
With the other I have no problems.
Tried it with things plugged in and without things plugged in
changed it tho sockets in other rooms.
problems stays with one of these plugs.
Followed your suggestion to do a reset, even after the reset the plug switches off.
In reinstalling the plug in the kasa app I gave him a different name so that no old routines could kick in.
any suggestions ?
Franky
