Hello everyone,

I just purchased 5 of these routers to replace my exiting wifi enabled routers as a security measure. Once installed they seem to work great. But I am having an issue with the response time.

I have several pieces of hardware that at any given time may or may not be on the network. Once visible to the network I statically assign an IP address to that piece of hardware. However, when I want to communicate with that piece of hardware (using SCP or SSHing into it) I have wait about 10 seconds before I get a response. This only occurs when using this router. I can change back to my old wifi router and my response time returns to normal. Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

First of all, whats the model of your device? And where is this "hardware" namely, what is your topology? How did you test the ping delay by ping or any other thing?

Thanks for replying. Not sure why the model and other information isn't showing up in this forum.
Model: TL-R470T+
Hardware: V5.0
Firmware: 1.2.0 Build 20160809

The hardware is located behind a switch. Pretty straight forward simplistic topology. Hardware-->Switch-->Router.

Yes in order to test the ping delay, I did indeed use ping.

Where is the PC you use to ping?
Hardware-->Switch-->[LAN]Router[WAN]-----Internet,
____________|
____________|
___________PC
Is this right?

Well, that is partially correct. The PC is connected to the switch. However, the router is not connected to the internet. The router functions as a DHCP server.
