I apologize if this is answered somewhere else, alas, I cannot find it.
I have tried uploading a background image for the portal log in screen. It lets me select the portion of the image I want to use. But, when I try to save I, I get an error that the image is too large. I have tried to shrink the image in terms of file size (Kb) and dimensions (pixels). It would greatly help to Know the system limitations so I'm not just guessing over and over.
Thanks!

Thank you for your response. I did look in the 2.8 version of the guide and could only find info on authentication. also, my base image was only 900k ish. Then I cropped from there. Are there any rules based on pixels? I know 5x3 is an orientation but I'm not finding a definitive size for that. is that 500x300, 5k x 3k? or something else? As mentioned, my image is better than half the supported size, a supported file type and it allows me to crop within the portal admin page, but when I try to save, it gives a hard error saying file is too big.

That's a known bug in v2.5.3/v2.5.4. I did report this bug to R&D already. Will be changed hopefully in next version, together with this awful black background on logos with transparency, which is also a bug.

That's a ratio. If your image is 100 pixels in height, width should be (100/5) * 3 = 60 pixels. If your image is 500 pixels in height, then yes, width should be 300 pixels.
If you ask me, the cropping function in the controller is not a good idea, since the image gets cropped anyway by the devices it is displayed on. Using standard CSS, one would have much better control over how it is being cropped on different devices. That's one of several reasons why I refuse to use EAP controller v2.5.3 in the field at all for now.

Thank you very much, that is helpful. I also noticed the black on the logos and just figured it was a quality issue with the original image. Glad to know the image is fine. Thanks again!
