You can put the extender where you only can get 2 or 3 wifi signal bars from the router, and make sure the 2.4G and 5G lights on the extender are Green.

Hi, What's the model of your router? Did you contact your Internet Provider? Does the router have WAN IP address?

This modem doesn't have the IP reservation feature, but you still can setup a static IP address on your printer's settings, then the IP won't change.
