HS110 vs HS100 Discovery of WIFI Network

I successfully installed the HS110 this morning with no problem, This evening I attempted to install 2 different HS100 plugs and neither could discover the WIFI network. One is 8-feet away from the wireless router and only blinks alternately between amber and green as does the other HS100 which is 15-feet away from the wireless router. Why does the HS110 connect immediately but the two HS100 cannot? Do I need to return the two HS100 plugs for a refund?
