Allow continuous recording
Cameras like C420 allow to connect to a power source instead of battery. Why not allow continuous recording when the camera is connected to a power source?
I do miss many instances because of late detection

I think it is because the ports for these devices have no way of knowing if its a constant power source. The ports are really designed for charging the battery and not directly powering the camera. Beyond charging the camera itself, the real purpose of the ports are to allow for solar panels to charge the camera's battery throughout the day.
If you are looking for coninuous recording, you would have to look towards non-battery cameras, such as the C5XX and C3XX series.
Right now, the only device we have that is capable of having multiple power types is our Dual Powered doorbells, which will fully switch modes between being a battery camera and a hardwired camera. Unfortunately, I believe that this is a limitation of the hardware and is not something that can be easily added to other models not designed for it.

@Riley_S i don't think we'll have to limit the feature based on this. For instance, the device knows battery percentage. If the battery percentage >= 50% (or configurable), allow to record 24/7. If percentage goes lower, fall back to motion detection recording.
Above software condition can not only allows to implement the feature regardless of hardware capabilities but also protects in the event of loss of power source.

Its a conversation that we are actually having with the development team on the possibility of increasing the amount the camera can move between modes - but from what I can tell, the functionality is relatively hard-coded into the device and it is appearing that simply changing this funtionality is more difficult than it sounds. Keep in mind that the solar compatability makes this even more difficult as it is sporadic and provides lower power. Things such as RTSP and ONVIF are also made more difficult when things like this change, as these should be non-stop network streams - whereas they would need to be restarted periodically.
