It would be nice to have facial recognition that would notify the app. And a seperate activity type for recognized faces. That way alerts to phone can be filtered based on a known or unknown face. Also an automation that has If known face then turn on light, etc.

  @jmsbnd,

I cannot tell if you are teasing or putting forth that accurate of a request XD

Facial Recognition was announced at CES, and shown off with the TD25. It should be arriving some time later this year. The feature comes from the latest hub updates allowing devices to connect to an H500 (releasing later this year)

You should be able to classify strangers and familiars, and receive notificaitons indicating a stranger or known person. I believe that these are set to be included in Smart Actions, but it may be an added feature after we see the feature released after the initial facial recognition launch.

We also showed AI features that allow the doorbell to describe what it is seeing "Person Carrying Coffee Cup in a Walkway"

Stay Tuned, We will have many updates to give regarding a release and the device's functionality throughout the year!
