Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.11

after all kinds of issues on these shy itty cameras... no having 1 of them again after 11 months completley going nuts.

it startet 2 days ago... when the cam suddenly when offline. when i checked it it was switched off. restarted the cam and it worked for 2 hours after it wend to offline again and when checking it it was off again. i reset the camera on the button, removed the cam from the app, deleted the app and entered the cam again... worked for 10 hours now the cam is again not responding at all, but now WITHOUT the status offline.

i think i should just trash it, or will tp replace the cam? i do not thingk there is anything wrong with the wifi setup, all the other tapo cams plugs etc work without issue...

same as this trouble cam did (apart from settings like motion tracking, activity checking etc)

googling the issue seem that tp exactly know there is something totally wrong with their cams wifi abilities.

its the first version of c425 together with the solar panel, not even USB-C which is another joke...

@tomstt I have the TC85. Same thing is happening to me. So frustrating. What good are cameras that don't work?

so after a lot of checking logs in the fritzbox, i am pinpointing this problem to dual band or triple band repeaters / routers.

when the 5mhz bachkaul is cutting off due to example lets say radar on the higher frequencies; although the cam shows still connected in the user interface in the router

in reality looses connection to the internet and can somehow not reforce the system to reconnect to the internet...

and then after a while the tapo app shows it offline and it remains offline as the tapo server can not reach it.

(until you reset the cam or the router entierly) > then after the next radar event the same issue again...

so i changed the channel to the lower ones on 5mhz not required to be handled by dfs / zero wait dfs...

this improved the situation but did not delete it. so next i did was connecting the cams to a single band 2.4ghz repeater... connected to a multiband repeater in row...

keeps fingers crossed but so far the issue is gone...

i suspect that it could also be worth a try seperating the ssid's of the 2 bands 5mhz 2.4mhz and connect the cams solely to the 2.4mhz. on dual band repeaters...

but i did not try this...

also i contacted tp link in germany and they and wrote and pushed a firmware update 1.2.24 build 250225 rel.73749n to additonally help on the situation.

this is only for the v1.2 cam not the v1.0

so give it a try guys. good luck.

ps : now i also understand that comment on amazon on the cams that they would not work properly with fritz... but the tp link repeater was fine...

most likely was that tp link repeater a single band 2.4mhz...
