Update

This morning also the cam with the new firmware went offline. angry

Since I'm out and needed to see, I used this trick: I opened the Deco app and looked where it was connected (because I repeat, the cams always appear connected even when they are offline on the TAPO app) and I restarted that DECO. At that point the cam forced the connection to another DECO unit further away and also reappeared online on the TAPO app...

@__Fabio__ Me too, C425 V1 with latest firmware offline again, and I have the backup hub.

Never had this issue with older firmwares.

One workaround which worked, I was able to reboot the H200 hub and then the C425 connected to it. Why it didn't automatically fall back to the hub, which it's supposed to do?

I noticed that now all the cams have updated to the latest fw. And I have a cam that is offline (the most important one). Really annoying.
The cam always appears to be connected with full signal to the DECO unit. I also tried to restart the DECO unit where the cam is connected and it reconnected to the same one with full signal. So it is not a WIFI problem but I think more of a problem with access to the TP-Link cloud. The same cloud that transmits data to the management app

@Richie0414 this hole C425 Wifi issue is scandalous ... the net is full of people having issues with it.

All sorts of small software bugs... detection stuff etc...nothing major, anyways this Tapo stuff can not be taken serious anymore, its electronic toys nothing more.

But the most important thing a STABLE network WIFI connection is really killing it, honestly.

Almost none of these camerase works stable... i have plenty of issues with it and was 1 of the first here to complain about it.

Now i had to replace yet a c425 again... after hours and hours of troublshooting based on questions and requests from tapo/tplink they finally agreed after i complained if they would finally pay my hours spend for them to send me a replacement cam for the one making the most trouble...

So far so good, got the new camera... and guess what now after +-5 weeks in use permanently offline again and can not get it back online.

Form day 1 on the cam jumped offline online... but managed always to do it by itself... but now, its done again and will open up another warranty claim.

these cameres suck so damn much... its crazy... and for 100 sure it all started with an update of either the app or the camera firmware...

i had bought a 2 cam set with 2 solar panels and used them for almost 1 year straight, no issues AT all and then suddenly boom, they transformed into pieces of JUNK.

The FritzBox Router sees the cams all the time and has connecttion to them, with one difference the ones being offline in the app show a GREEN LED sign in the FritzBox user interface intstead of GREEN WORLD GLOBE LED sign, which means although they are connected to the FritzBox they can somehow not connect to the internet or over the internet to the Tapo App.

Honestly if would like to take all my 10 Tapo items and trash them all togehter and change brand. This is absolutely not acceptable anymore.

and other people start to report similar issues with other type tapo cams like the c85 and so forth... @TP-Link.De @TP-Link_US what is going on?

oh yes, i forgot, something which is very interesting... somone on Amazon.de writes they would not work stable with FritzBox products... he tried then a TP powerline repeater and the issues were gone ever since then.

TP LINK, DO SOMETHING

  @Richie0414

so after a lot of checking logs in the fritzbox, i am pinpointing this problem to dual band or triple band repeaters / routers.

when the 5mhz bachkaul is cutting off due to example lets say radar on the higher frequencies; although the cam shows still connected in the user interface in the router

in reality looses connection to the internet and can somehow not reforce the system to reconnect to the internet...

and then after a while the tapo app shows it offline and it remains offline as the tapo server can not reach it.

(until you reset the cam or the router entierly) > then after the next radar event the same issue again...

so i changed the channel to the lower ones on 5mhz not required to be handled by dfs / zero wait dfs...

this improved the situation but did not delete it. so next i did was connecting the cams to a single band 2.4ghz repeater... connected to a multiband repeater in row...

keeps fingers crossed but so far the issue is gone...

i suspect that it could also be worth a try seperating the ssid's of the 2 bands 5mhz 2.4mhz and connect the cams solely to the 2.4mhz. on dual band repeaters...

but i did not try this...

also i contacted tp link in germany and they and wrote and pushed a firmware update 1.2.24 build 250225 rel.73749n to additonally help on the situation.

this is only for the v1.2 cam not the v1.0

so give it a try guys. good luck.

ps : now i also understand that comment on amazon on the cams that they would not work properly with fritz... but the tp link repeater was fine...

most likely was that tp link repeater a single band 2.4mhz...

@Richie0414 I got them upgraded and some days they worked fine but now one again started with same issues. So they will go away nothing but garbage and bad support

I can't understand why they don't release a "new" firmware based on the version before the bugged one.

Both of my camera firmwares were updated to 1.2.24 Buiid 250103 Rel. 70731n. They both stayed up for about 2 weeks. Then both went off-line, and most annoying thing is I am currently out of the house on vacation. I can't monitor the house using the cameras. Very frustrating.

@Richie0414 I am new to the party but not this situation.  Had three cameras (425 models) and one door bell.  The door bell is hardwired and has a microchip storage.  I bring this up because I have had NO problem with the doorbell cam going offline until yesterday.  My other three cameras started going offline a few months ago and the ONLY way to change that is to get ladder out and turn on and off.  They stay on for a day or few but now ALWAYS go offline, no so too is my ring cam.  This sucks, these cameras were great until the new software problem.  Boat anchors now.  I'm considering sending them all back and getting something else.
