Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.21 240809 rel. 52696n

Hi!   I have a pair of Tapo C425 for a couple of months.

On of the units does not perform firmware updates for some strange reason.  Tapo app always indicates that it has the latest update installed.   My second unit updated automatically twice since purchase and now run on firmware version 1.2.23 build 241119 rel.70306n.

Worth mention is that the unit that does not update also seems to have serious problems with the motion detection field.  Its been adjusted all the way down to 1 but still reacts on movement 5-10 meters away and this drain the battery badly with arroudn 200 motions registerd per day. It realy doesnt matter if its set on 1 or 6 for example, same huge mount of registered motions.

How can I get the unit to start update?   Any options beside return it and have it replaced with new unit?

Thanks

@Quigley I think the 1.2.22 or 1.2.23 firmware was pulled once again.

I have one C425 running on 1.2.23 (which allows the option to connect to a H200 Hub), one C425 that remains on 1.2.21 claiming it's the last available firmware and one C425 that arrived yesterday got updated from 1.2.18 to 1.2.21 and also claims to be up to date now.

Quite frustrating that not all devices are running the same firmware, as I was planning to connect them all to the Hub soon. I can only hope the 1.2.23 (or maybe a newer one) is released soon and then remains available long enough to get all cams to the same version.
