Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.14 Build 240929 Rel.63130n

The LED lights on two of my three doorbell cameras come on by themselves and stay on, even after a motion event has passed. All three cameras are configured identically:

  • Hardwired, always-on recording
  • LED set to Auto On
  • Night Mode Settings to Doorbell Mode
  • LED color set to Blue

The symptom I'm noticing is that for two of the three cameras, the Light button on the Live View page is turned on and remains on even though there have been no motion or other alerts on any of the cameras in the last 6 hours.  I can manually turn off the LED lights from the Live View page, but the same behavior repeats once an alert is generated.

Why would two of these three cameras behave differently? And why should the LEDs get stuck on anyway in these circumstances?

  @GeorgeMcF,

The text in the Tapo app for the 'Auto On' feature under the LED Settings says that the lights will turn on from any event detection OR when watching the live view.

Are you able to verify the light is starying on by checking the doorbell itself, rather than its live view?

If you turn off the Auto-On feature, does the behavior continue?
