So I just learned about the hubs. Didn't realize those are also chimes. :facepalm: I do wish they allowed for more customization so i could use my own tones but it's better than most from what I can see. If I want a wired doorbell and want 24/7 recording and want it to work with the H500 when it releases, then which doorbells will work for that? Also, side question, does the H500 effectively become an NVR if I connect a 1TB drive to it? -- When will it be available for purchase? -- Any idea of cost? -- Will my C325WB eventually be able to connect to it?

  @jcase16,

Somewhat - the chimes are a bit different - but you are correct, at this point any Tapo Hub can be paired as a chime. I believe that they can connect directly to the doorbell for a more stable connection, but they are a bit more limited in what you can do with them (such as them not being available in Smart Actions).

For the H500 - the concept is that your existing cameras will record - at CES we showcased the TD25/D225 recording to the Hub and using all of its AI features, but it is not limited to this model. The features are being shipped to many cameras and doorbells as a Hub Recording Feature you can find in the patch notes on a device's download page.

The H500 does accept up to 16TB Drives (not via USB - that is for backup and network sharing) for recording and clip storage. The number of cameras that can use the hub's recording features is limited by the type of recording you select for each camera (24/7 vs Clips), but it does turn it into a mini NVR. There is even an HDMI port on the hub to provide NVR-like views.

We are not yet sure of a price, but our teams are learning more about the hub and we will begin to share details as soon as we can, but it is still undergoing testing and we dont have a date to provide yet. While I cannot make any promises about camera compatability, it does seem that most of our powerful cameras are receiving the feature - but development is still ongoing and new models receive the update each week. Keep in mind the C325WB is a ColorPro camera so its features are likely different than the bulk of models out there - along with the fact that it is one of our few cameras currently available that allow for wired networking.
