Hello

I purchased two new AX3000 routers, to be installed in two separate homes.

Installed one today and it is working fine. Put the Tether app on my i phone.

I plan to intal the second one in a separate house next week.

When I do that do I just follow the 'add a device' prompts on the phone app?

*  will both routers will share the same password?

** since the routers are both Archer AX55 will I be able to rename them on the status screen?

thanks

Hey @Sunfine,

You shouldn't have any problem adding them to the same app, and the setup will be very similar to what you did for your first network.

Since they are in different homes, you will want to make sure that you configure your second router as an entirely new network and not as a part of your other home network.

When adding a router in this way, they will be bound to the same TP-Link ID, but are treated as two seperate networks. This means that the settings will not be shared between the networks and you will need to configure your wireless settings manually. You can try to use the same SSID and Password that you use for your home network, as this will allow some of your devices to automatically connect to the network at either home.
