Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Reading the Deco app user guide they mention replacing the main Deco, and it looks like you would connect the new X55 to the old Deco (M5 in my case) and then leave it connected, there's no mention of removing the old Deco. Is that correct? I don't want to keep the old M5 connected forever.

  @yves_b  I think I ended up just adding the new deco to the mesh network as a satellite and then reassigning it to be the main and plugging it into the modem.

  @BastropGuy

To replace the main Deco by a new Deco, the first step is to add the new Deco in the existing mesh, and, indeed, you connect the new Deco to the current main Deco, and the new Deco will be added into the mesh

Once this is working, the next step is to connect the new Deco to the ISP modem, instead of the old Deco, and the old Deco will be excluded from the configuration of the mesh.
