Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 20240325 rel.56896(5553)

Hi

I have an Archer AX55 V.1.6 Router,

I received an automatic Firmware update request through my router settings online website app and like an idiot i thought Hey ! what a great idea "A NEW FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!"

so i blindly pressed the button and POW !! everything went very bad ( my first thought was a much stronger word here , but a calmer head prevailed ) , First, my TCL 65" TV won't connect to the internet , my smart devices don't even recognize that i even have a router and my Motorola 5G Ultra wide android phone now says its " Disabled " when i try to connect to the router

Everything was working great before the firmware upgrade , the chance of it being the the upgrade is pretty high at this point

I would very much appreciate any help here , I have tried many, many things , all the usual ones  resetting routers , phones , TV's , i even tried to set the firmware back to the previous version but the TP-Link online app does not work , it wants to fail every time , I especially liked one piece of online advice that  i found which was to stand closer to the router !! , that one was extra special !!

But Seriously , I have an $180 paperweight unless i get this thing sorted out

Thank you all in advance for your help

  @Wifidavid

You might consider downgrading your router to its previous firmware version.  I am assuming that your previous version was 1.2.6 or 1.3.1.

If your router won't let you downgrade the firmware, you can follow the instructions here as though your router was "bricked".  I have done this many times during testing and the AX55 has no problems with the steps shown in Method 2.

Don't forget to disable the automatic firmware upgrade option when you're finished.

  @jra11500

Thank you jra11500 for your reply , i have taken a quick look at the link and will certainly be trying the steps to hopefully recover my router/paperweight

I didn't mention in my original post that the recent firmware upgrade i mentioned in my post actually completed successfully without a problem , it was just what it contained that made everything go to mush so to speak

I am not sure which version i had before but i did regularly update the router and it was almost certainly 1.2.6. or 1.3.1. as you mentioned

Once again thank you for your prompt reply
