Recently I had multiple power failures due to an electrical storm. Once everything returned to normal one of my HS200 switches did not come back online. I reset the switch without any issues.

when I tried to get Alexa to control the switch it was unable to find it. So I did a factory reset on the switch, reconfigured it and still Alexa was unable to access it. I then rebooted my router just in case there was a routing issue. Still no luck in connecting Alexa. I also deleted the Kasa app from my iPhone and reinstalled it. Still no change.

I can see the switch MAC address on the router so I know I'm connected to the network and I can activate the switch in the Kasa app. What I did notice and thought odd was that none of my other switches can be "seen" in the Kasa app but they all work fine with Alexa.

Any thoughts on what might be going on?

1. Please confirm whether the Kasa account you are currently logging in is the same as the Kasa account you used when you bound Alexa?

2. Did the reconfiguration complete? If not, please share a screenshot of the error message here.

3. Check whether this HS200 can be controlled remotely with Kasa APP. If this device is local only, this FAQ may help. Why can’t I enable Remote Control on the Kasa APP?

  @Wayne-TP The problem has been solved. It appears that, for whatever reason, after the power failure the Kasa app needed to be re-linked up with Amazon.

  @FranklinSam

Thank you for the update. Glad to know it is working now.

General, Kasa will reconnect to Alexa when it is back online, even there was a power outage. In your situation, if only one light bulb is experiencing issues, it is possible that this specific bulb didn't reconnect promptly, leading to the failure in re-establishing the connection with Alexa.

If there are situations where devices are not working with Alexa, this FAQ should help. What should I do if I cannot make my Kasa device work with Alexa or Google Home?
