I want to control a plug with a remote that is not wired. Something like a wall mounted switch or a panic switch to activate a plug. I do not have power at the location I want to mount the switch. I want to replace a X-10 remote switch that turns on an outside light trigger devices.

Not sure if this will help you or not but I've integrated SmartThings buttons into ecosystem. You have to have Samsung SmartThings account and the SmartThings app, but once you do you can integrate your Kasa devices into the SmartThings ecosystem. From there you can make this button turn on a Kasa plug.
