New Arrival Setup for Apple HomeKit Enabled Kasa Devices - EP25, KP125
If you didn't hear... Kasa has begun to support Apple HomeKit!
This means that you can spend less time setting your product up for multiple environments and can spend more time exploring ways to use your devices.
We just released a new set of support articles with instructions on setting up HomeKit compatible devices to show how easy this setup can be. Currently, Kasa is offering two separate smart plugs with HomeKit compatibility - the KP125 and the EP25. The EP25 and KP125 are some of Kasa's newest Smart Plugs offering Energy Monitoring.
If you have never had a smart plug with energy monitoring before, I would highly recommend picking one up to monitor the energy usage of devices across your home. (Yes, you might even be able to finally find the device that added $20 to your electric bill last year.)
Feel free to comment below, as the team would love to hear what you think of the new feature and what devices you would like to see HomeKit support brought to next. Also, we would like to know what your experience was like if you configured your device using the HomeKit Procedure.

I had no issues with setup of my P125 Tapo switch. I am using a Android phone, and it installed without a hitch, plus it is working like a charm.

Being working with TP Link support under [TP-Link Support]-[TKID220929069.
I've had the EP25 four pack for almost a month now. Connecting to Apple Airport Extreme base station on secure 2.4GHz network.
Installed Kasa app, and reinstalled it three times in the last month.
Had to reboot iPhone after setting up the first two and then did second two to get the device to be recognized after scanning QR code.. This pattern is repeatable.
Updated firmware to 1.0.8.
Assinged IP addresses based on MAC address on router setup. Read this suggestion in another post.
They stayed controllable in both Apple Home app and Kasa app for 2-3 hours. This pattern is repeatable. One thing I did notice is running "arp -a" all four devices showed their assigned IP addresses, after they became uncreachable from Home or Kasa apps the IP address from "arp -a" would revert to 169....
Once they become unresponsive, if I cycle power to device they become responsive again and remain responsive for 2-3 hours.
Tried setting up a ping loop to a couple of the devices, became unresponsive after 2-3 hours.
Attached one of the devices to a friend's network on a new Cox cable company supplied router and it remained available in Kasa app for 24 hours. Only available in Apple Home for 2-3 hours.
Read a couple of posts about security settings on WiFi network so I setup a Guest network on router with no seecurity and joined the devices to that network. They remained connected in Kasa app for two days. Not available in Home App though in the unsecured network.
Ordered an Amazon version of the smart plug and it has been rock steady for a week now. Using it for Geofencing an appliance. The Kasa plugs worked in Apple Home geofencing in the 2-3 hour available time frame as well.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tried to change the network settings to one that the other forum threads suggested? I believe I remember some people stating that the WPA compatibility was the issue with the devices staying connected and removing WPA as an encryption option allowed some of their devices to reconnect.
You could try to disable fast roaming on your router if it is an option. This is the setting on routers that will attempt to push devices to another wifi band, and I have seen similar features cause periodic disconnects from the network. If you have a non-ios device, you could try to setup the plugs using the Kasa app, and adding to your Homekit app later. The same would go for the other types of set up available for the device, such as Google Home, Alexa, or SmartThings.

@Riley_S I can confirm there is a difference in packaged vs singular as it related to their support and honoring their warranty.
I had one EP25 fail, and support won't honor a replacement without me removing all four from my household, removing them from the app, and then shipping all four units back (one defective and three working). It's a very bad user experience and would cost more to ship back than an individual unit costs.

The four-pack EP 25's purchased six weeks ago, successfully installed without using homekit, and were functional until three days ago when they became unaccessible. Multiple device and phone reboots haven't made a difference. Three of the four continue to reside in the list of 14 total Kasa devices (all of which remain fully functional) but in grayed out text. Efforts to start over by factory reset also yields no results. No apparent way to totally remove /delete the non-functioning, grayed-out devices from the Kasa menu in order to start over. One of the four remains functional but only as switch with progaming met with "connection error".
Similar to other poster's attempts to restart the process also gives me only the home kit choice to proceed - which requires purchase of more equipment (Homepod/Apple TV). Any ideas? Must I return these to AMZ and replace with EP10's?

I have had experiences with other devices that will not be recognized for setup by the application when the device already exists in the list, even greyed out; presumabley from having the same MAC address.
There should be a method of deleting the devices from the Kasa App. When the device are greyed out, you can't click into the device settings; instead, you have to long press on a device from the home screen, which will give the option to delete the device from the list.
When you first setup these devices, did you use the HomeKit setup, or did you use an Android device?
If you used the Homekit setup, you may need to try and find the devices in the Apple Home app and change them there. The two systems are very tightly intertwined and the devices will most likely be in the Homekit app until they are removed from the Kasa list of devices.

I'm having the same issue,
My KP125 (6 of them) go offline after several hours. unplugging and plugging in brings them back to connectivity.
I have tried
-setting up a guest SSID on 2.4GHz
-the previous setup is using "smart connect" one SSID with 3 bands (tp-link AX11000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band)
-the KP125 are the only devices on this SSID
-reset to factory state and and reconfigured on guest network (3 of the 6) The remaining 3 i left as they were.
-security is WPA/WPA2-Personal
All 6 went offline again.
-the 3 on the guest network showed orange light. the other 3 showed no light.
-I decided against removing security from the guest network.
-When they are offline they drop off the client list in the router
-Turning off wi-fi and using cellular only does not show reconnect.
-The schedule functions are still active and working.
-I do not see a way to assign a static IP address
I really wanted these to work. The scheduling is easy and seem to setup easily as well.
Any ideas would be appreciated

There are a few settings that you might try to disable on your router as they are known to cause odd behaviors for IoT devices.
I would first try to disable the "BeamForming" Option on your router, as this can cause devices to have trouble reconnecting to the network.
"Fast Roaming" results in the router moving devices from band to band, try disabling this; your devices will then be in charge of connecting to the network with the strongest signal.
When the devices go offline, do they happen to all go offline at one time?
The Kasa App does not have a menu to assign a Static IP address, instead you can assign an IP reservation on your router based on the device's MAC address.
FYI: The Scheduling Features of the devices are housed on the plug itself, rather than the cloud; and also Kasa devices require a secured network to connect.

The tp-link AX11000 has BeamForming on by default and there is no disable function available

I cannot find Fast Roaming in the settings. I have half the plugs on the guest network. They should not want to locate a different SSID. The signal strength is -31dBm

Not necessarily. they seem to last about 5 hours. I am staggering the restarts now to see if this is the case.

i have bound 3 plugs MAC->IP. This did not help.
-I disabled QoS. This did not help.
-The Firmware version is 1.0.8
-Homekit does not always agree with Kasa app on what is or isn't on line.
-The time on the plugs is correct.
-Internet speed tested on the router is 254 Mbps.
-No other devices are experiencing connectivity issues. I have 3 plugs and 5 cameras from a different manufacturure and they are solidly connected. IF i have one that looses connectivity i am notified and it reconnects itself. This may happen once in 3 months. But, i don't have to do anything to reconnect it. The KP125 plugs require unplugging to reboot and for some that requires moving furniture.
-Restarting the router does not help. I also restarted the modem.
Is it possible to downgrade the firmware?
Thank you for your help

UPDATE:
Success!
Last Sunday (today is Thursday) I cleaned up all the settings I had modified while troubleshooting and started again. Here is where I ended up.
-guest network with only Kasa devices (6)
-no MAC address binding in the router
-no QoS
-the rest of the router settings are default
The plugs have been connected continuously.
I am able to see the plugs on the cellular network when away from home.
The plugs are unavailable with Homekit. This is not really an issue for me since Kasa is working great and i don't have a hub and it may be because of my local network access setting. I have not spent any time chasing this issue and don't plan to, these are my only Homekit devices.
I do not know if the plugs will reconnect if they go offline for some reason. This may or may not have happened, I have not seen any occurrence of offline and reconnect.
This is how i expected the plugs to work when i first purchase them. I liked the ease of programming schedules and the initial setup.
I hope you are also successful.
