Are the AX50 and AX3000 different devices?

Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.6

I just bought an AX3000/AX50 and am confused as to what device I actually have.  I've searched the forums for clarification, but no luck so far.  However, I have seen them talked about as if they are two different routers, one called the AX50 and the other AX3000.  But, the packaging mine came in says both names on the box.

When I bought it a few days ago, I was on the TP Link homepage, clicked the main banner advertising the AX3000, was taken to this amazon listing and bought it.  But notice it's described as both the AX50 and AX3000, including in this picture from the Amazon description:

So what's the deal?  Are there in fact two different devices called an AX50 and AX3000, respectively?  Or is the proper name the "Archer AX50" and AX3000 is just a statement of the lastest mode and max throughput it supports?  But if that's the case, why are two different products listed on TP-Link's website?  I'm really confused.  If they are different, what are the differences?  I'm looking at the model comparision on the TP Link site and don't see any yet... but I feel like I need a text diff engine to comb through it...

@HankRearden My understanding is that the AX50 version of this device has USB3.0 connections while the AX3000 has USB2.0.

I am glad you asked - I had this same question!

Where does AX50 come from?  I understand AX3000 - the ax refers to 802.11ax and the 3000 is the speed (3000Mbps).  What does AX50 refer to?

Also, it seems to me that besides the USB rating difference, the HomeCare feature is built into the AX50 model and, hence, it costs slightly more.  For example, the AX3000 is sold for slightly lower price on Walmart.com because it does not have HomeCare.

@HankRearden

Seems like there are many confusions over these 2 models.  I just posted a question on another similar thread.  I like TP-Link to clarify on the differences between AX3000 and AX3000/AX50..  Apparently, Walmart is not the only store that sells AX3000.  I've seen it in Best Buy online and actually brought the AX3000 from Target online by mistake.  If you're already spending $130, why save another $20 to short on performances and features?

I can overlook some features such as Home Care, Samba server, and USB 2.0, but not the wifi performance.  I was baffled by online reviews on the differences of performance between these 2 models with identical hardware.  I'm trying to verify if the difference is between wifi6 and wifi6e.  Side by side comparison on TP-Link's website shows AX50 supports, "5 GHz: 2402 Mbps (802.11ax, HT160)," while AX3000 supports "5 GHz: 2402 Mbps (802.11ax)."  Would this be the difference between wifi6 and wifi6e, thus speed differences from online reviews?
