Is there a way to register my HS100 on wifi that is not password protected?

I use my devices locally within my house. I have a subnet set up that limits connections by IP.  I do not want to enter my wifi password into anyone else's app just to register it.

I think that this is a shortcoming of TPLInk.  If I want to connect to an unsecured LAN then give me a warning that it is unprotected but don't stop me from registering my device. I honestly think that consumers give away vital information way too easily.

Is there a way to register it without using my password?

Thanks.

@MartyP

No, our smart products are cloud base so they have to connect to your home Wifi.  However the the linking is still local.  Your not share your password with a 3rd party.  Think of the Kasa app as the interface and the plug as an adapter.  It no different than that.
