Cannot connect new HS103 V2 Smart Plug Lite to Wifi
Just purchased two HS103 Smart Plug Lite from Amazon. Took them out today, I've followed all the rules for installation (ensuring 2.4Ghz, downloaded the Kasa app, tried to Add Device, manually selected the Kasa Plug wifi network (TP-LINK_Smart Plug_xxxx) from my wifi settings on my iPhone, went back to the Kasa app, but it literally just sits there on the "Connect to Wifi" page, where it tells me to connect my iPhone to my Wifi network to continue setup. I've tried resetting the Smart Plug, resetting my router, tried both of the plugs I bought, and NOTHING works, I literally cannot go any further with the setup process. My phone sees the Wifi network the plug is putting out, but the app doesn't seem to register it. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix? Thanks is advance.

For issue with adding the HS103 there are a couple of things to try:
1. Set your router security to WPA Personal, then set up smart plug.
2. If your router is already set to WPA Personal, change it to WPA, set up the plug, and then once the plug is set up change it back to WPA Personal.
3. Contact support to see if they have firmware available to manually update the smart plug with.

@Tony changing the router security from WPA to WPA Personal fixed this problem!
thank you!!
just a quick update, when I switched my security back to WPA the two new plugs wouldn't work. Kept my security on WPA Personal and they work fine. The other 9 devices I have (all over 2 yrs old) stayed connected without any problems.

Thanks @Tony!
I was going to follow your advice, and then suddenly found out that my router has 2 wireless networks 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so I was using different password.
Now it's connected, thank you very much!

@jcozn2 I was having the same issue. Called tech support and they put me through the motions. While I was waiting on them to go down their list I noticed that when I opened my Wi-Fi settings on my iPhone that I could see both of my smartplugs, so I connected to the first one. I then opened the Kasa App and voila! After I set the first one up I connected to the 2nd one via Wi-Fi and repeated the process.

I was having heaps of trouble getting this set up and the WPA option fixed it straight away.

@Tony I'm experiencing the exact same issues, with my 5 brand new HS102 V2. Please help. Thx

Usually equates to the phone being on a VPN, router having too many connected devices 20+, or the router security needing to be changed.
If neither help I would reach out to support in that case.
