I would like to add a to link dimmer on my stairway. This is a three way switch . I wanted to put it in a dimmer so at night I can leave it on at a low setting for the kids. Is this possible? I see the three way kit but it does not have a dimmer.

@Palmtask Currently, we do not have a three way switch kit that is also a dimmer. Our HS220 (dimmer switch) is not for three way installation.

A 3-way dimmer that works with standard 3-way wiring (traveler) would be fantastic. Nobody has one. I’m surprised you have not released one yet. I think it would be a great seller!

Are you working on a 3 way dimmer and if so when is the anticipated release?

i have 20 TP link switches in my house and am waiting on this to complete my whole house. When are you bringing this out?

Hi TPL, Also needed for my application, a 3 way switch without the nuetral wire requirement. My mid century home does not have nuetral wires on any of it's 3ways.

@Palmtask I don't think tp-link is planning to release a 3 way dimmer. I eventually gave up waiting and went with a different brand. Feit Electric has a 3 way dimmer that can also be used as a single pole dimmer. If you have a Costco membership, they are about $30 for a 2 pack. I have installed 6 so far, one pair as a 3 way dimmer setup and the other 4 as individual single pole dimmers. They work really well, and cost less than any of the tp-link switches. I am planning to replace an HS 210 setup since I need 3 way and dimming, which the tp-link does not do. I tried to wait for a tp-link solution because I already have several of their devices installed, and I really like the KASA app, but could not wait any longer.

@jrad I think neutral is needed to power the switch electronics

@Tony I would also love to have a 3-way dimmer for the lights in my Living Room. Please consider developing such a product. From the looks of this Forum there's at least some demand for it. I know that it would really "make my day!".

Thank you for your attention to this matter,

    Scott L

If you are willing to live with one switch and voice commands, you can combine the travelers on one switch (effectively neutralizing it), and use a single pole dimmer on the other. You can do anything with the single 220. dim the lights, set a timer to dim at night, etc.
