I cannot get the Wi-Fi LED to stop blinking amber and green; and the KASA app indicates that the club-in is off (and "Unreachable"), when it is actually on. Any suggestions?

It seemed you failed down in configuring your device. Which step can't you pass through? If the final step(connect device to your home wifi), you can have a check on your wireless settings.
First make sure the signal is strong, then try to change the security protocol from WPA2-PSK to WEP.
