wow, have never seen that before. Do you happen to have Amazon Alexa on you phone? You can connect Kasa devices to Alexa. I'm wondering if it would behave the same in the Alexa app. Ryan

Could you supply some pictures of what you have in the box so we can help? You need to have a neutral (usually white) for the Kasa switches to work properly. Ryan
