Model: Archer A8
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.13.15

My A8 router is hard wired to my gigibyte AT&T modem. I'm using a Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe wireless adapter on my computer. The router shows that it is recieving a gigabyte bandwidth from the modem yet my computer (Windows 11) network settings says I'm only connected at 433 megabytes. And internet speed tests only show around 275 megabytes download? All hardware and Firmware are up to date. When I hardwire the computer to the modem directly I indeed get 975 megabuytes or more upload and download speeds so it isn't a modem issue. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I Googled it and found this:

==============

How fast is Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac?

433.3Mbps

The RTL8821CE provides simple legacy, 20MHz/40MHz/80MHz co-existence mechanisms to ensure backward and network compatibility. n Maximum PHY data rate up to 86.7Mbps using 20MHz bandwidth, 200Mbps using 40MHz bandwidth, and 433.3Mbps using 80MHz bandwidth. devices while operating at 802.11ac data rates.

========================

Part of the reason you can't get the 'max'. speed is that the wireless device must match, and the router is an AC Wave 2 router, but you card is not.

Need to move up to an AX speed

If you also want Wireless 940Mbps connection, you'll need to move up to a WiFi 7 adapter and router. I have a 1GB ISP service and using a BE65 Deco and an Intel M.2 BE200 adapter and reach it.

Still, check this chart for Wave 2:

The above is from WIISFI DOT COM (replace " DOT " with ".", the forum does not allow non-TP Link URL's to be posted).

The probable limit is the network adapter. Probably is not  3×3 MU-MIMO  to match the router.

If you go to that page, and select "More PHY speed tables, this is what it seems you are connecting with based on your speed:

  @IrvSp

Your response was what I thought, I was just hoping for some "trick" or work around. But a car can only go the speed limit even if it's engine can go much faster. I'm just gonna have to buck up and get some new gear. Thanks for your response and advice!
