My switch is a TL-SG108E, which isn't listed here but also wasn't listed in the business section -- am I in the wrong forum?

 

I noticed today that one of the green activity lights on my TL-SG108E switch wasn't blinking, and when I went in to the Switching page of the web interface the corresponding port says "Link Down". In fact there is a PC connected and the link is working fine. Could this be a failure of the patch cable or connector, or is there a problem with my PC's Ethernet interface? I tried moving that cable to a different port on the switch, and that causes the "LinkDown" to move accordingly.

Your issue (as described) is either from the patch cable or the PC ethernet adapter.

To isolate the reason for this issue change the PC patch cable and test again.

If the issue persists it means the problem is with your PC's Ethernet interface.
