Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.2.9 Build 20240724 Rel. 39578

I just purchsed the TP-Link Deco AXE5400 2-pack mesh router system. The individual router is the XE75. After the initial setup I was blown away by the speed increase. Before my old Netgear Nighthawk router was delivering 120MBps at best. Now with the Deco XE75, the speed was close to 300Mbps.  Closer to the router upstairs the speed also increased.

What was a bit troubling was the interaction with our Roku 4K.  I reset all devices, including the Roku. The content was very slow to buffer and show on our Smart TV which is wireless.  I did upgrade the firmware to 1.2.9 Build 20240724 Rel. 39578 when setting it up.

Connecting back the Nighthawk RAX20 the Roku streaming (Netflix,Hulu) improved back to the way it was.

Has anyone else experienced this?  We use Spectrum internet for our internet/phone/cable and have 500Mbps service.  Is there a way to get the streaming to work better with the Deco XE75?  If not, I am going to have to return this product and look for something else.

  @MikeMilw I am experiencing something very similar.  Went from 10 year old Netgear Orbi system to this brand new TP Link DECO AXE5300 and everything is working great...except my ROKUs.  Any solutions?  Between this and the terrible APP performance for management of the network I might just be returing this to costco and go back to netgear.

  @Nate5452

I ended up returning the XE75 systerm to Amazon and getting a refund.  My current Netgear NightHawk router is still working reasonably well, despite it no longer having support or firmware updates.  I am not sure about your ROKU issue. We are currently not using a Roku for our main TV as our new TV has smart/app capabilities.  Back when I posted, we had a different TV but have since upgraded.

Good luck.

Mike

@Nate5452 - in the Deco app (Network > select device > Connection Preference), did you try setting the Roku's preferred Wi-Fi connection to 2.4 GHz (instead of Auto)?  Or try 5 Ghz if the model of Roku supports that.

  @EricBWA I am getting a brand new roku stick (2021 version vs an older version) and will see if that fixes it.  Its weird,  I read somewhere to try the guest network and that worked really well, but my normal network..no
