It seems after a power outage, the router comes on before the modem and it never manages to get a connection to the internet.

 

Does anybody have a solution for this? This did not happen with my previous non TP-Link router and it is very problematic since I lose control of my house after a power outage.

 

Firmware up to date, reproducible 100%

A way to mitigate this would be to use a UPS device to protect at least your modem.
