I have a Deco P9 system with the router and 2 extenders. I'd like to get another extender. Can I buy any TP-Link extender and add it to my existing network?

To extend your network range, you have two options:

1. Purchase a new Deco unit and integrate it into your existing network.

2. Acquire a range extender that is compatible with your Deco units.

Please note that TP-Link offers three distinct types of mesh systems, which are not compatible with one another. Therefore, it is important to ensure that any extender you consider explicitly states its compatibility with Deco units.

The subsequent information has been extracted from the specified article. TP-Link Deco Mesh vs EasyMesh vs OneMesh vs Omada Mesh What's the Difference?

"Though Deco Mesh, EasyMesh, OneMesh™, and Omada Mesh all support Mesh networking, they are different Mesh technologies. Deco Mesh, Omada Mesh, and EasyMesh or OneMesh™ are supported by different TP-Link products, so they cannot build a Mesh network together. For EasyMesh-compatible products from TP-Link, they can combine with EasyMesh routers, range extenders, or Powerline WiFi adapters from TP-Link or other vendors and are also capable of forming whole home Mesh WiFi with OneMesh products. Please choose one of the Mesh products based on your actual needs and start building a seamless network for your office or home today."

  @alemieux34 Do you intend using PowerLine to connect the additional extender to the mesh?

  @alemieux34

A Deco P9 is able to communicate with another Deco P9 via the power network.

In the app, you will see "PLC" if a satellite Deco is using that to connect to another Deco.
