I'm having some strange issues with the BE6500 L2TP vpn server. I seem to have tracked it down to the pairing of this router, L2TP and Mac or iOS. When I connect to the VPN using Mac or iOS it seems like pings are fine, but trying to connect to or from any device on the LOCAL NETWORK is either very slow (simple html page might take 20 seconds to load), or times out. Windows devices don't seem to have the same issue.

RDP works on wireguard, but gets stuck in "securing connection to remote PC" on L2TP.

Oddly enough, if the Mac or iOS device are connected using L2TP, I can connect to devices that are connected to the router through wireguard just fine. These devices connect to other L2TP vpn servers without a problem, and wireguard seems to work without a problem.

Edit: I've tried disabling iCloud private relay. I also cannot connect to the internet if I enable "send all traffic through the vpn" in MacOs.

My IP setup is:

LAN: 192.168.0.0/24

L2TP: 10.9.0.11-10.9.0.20 with IPSec Preshared key

Wireguard tunnel IP Address: 10.5.5.1/32

Any suggestions?

BTW, the model isn't available in the dropdown, but it's actually an ARCHER BE6500.
