@Riley_S I ordered this from Amazon and can't wait to get it. How many devices does this support over WiFi?  This isn't mentioned anywhere.

  @Riley_S wanted to let you know my GE800 arrived today, and it passed the "wife likes it test"!  Woohoo!  Lol.

i know there's a fan in it to help keep everything inside cool. I can't hear or see it; I assume it starts working when a certain temperature is reached by the router and internally?

For anyone asking, performance-wise the GE800 is incredibly fast, even without any of the gaming features turned on. Watching 4k movie on Apple TV while gaming doesn't slow it down one bit. Amazing. 

  @Riley_S unfortunately no WiFi 7 devices yet, and our iPhone 15 Pro's are our only WiFi 6E devices, but even our regular 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz devices are seeing significant improvements, even over your Archer BE800 and Deco BE85.  
 

For example, we have full WiFi signal strength throughout our 2700 square foot house, with our 15 Pro's staying on the 6E radios everywhere; they couldn't do that before. Another example is no buffering with our Apple TV, which is connected via WiFi.

Received this unit Friday and set it up. Smooth installation and I turned my previous tp-link router (Archer ax90) into a AP and that went very smoothly as well. The only thing I had a question about was the game mode. I have the tether app on my phone and my desktop computer, that I game on, is connected through the game port on the router. I keep getting pop up messages from the tether app telling me that my Xbox Gaming console is boosted. I do not have an Xbox console nor any gaming consoles just my PC. From what I have read in the manual it boosts when Steam or certain games are initiated. Any ideas on what could be happening? Thanks.

  @Baermock I think that's because the app can't tell it's a PC or other gaming console, and thus calls it an XBox. It does the same for my friend's PkayStation. 

  @Riley_S suggestion for better GE800 cooling: raise the height of the feet an extra 0.25-0.30 inches. 
 

With the feet currently installed, there's insufficient cooling airflow under the unit, so the heat coming out the bottom heats up whatever (desk, table, bookcase, etc.) the GE800 is sitting on. This heat then radiates back up into the bottom of the GE800, thus raising the internal temps more and causing the fan to run harder and longer to cool the router.

I put rubber feet under mine, and there was a very noticeable reduction in heat from the bottom, sides, and top of my GE800; all were still at room temperature even after watching 4k movies and gaming for more than 5 hours straight over the weekend, with the fan running for noticeably shorter times and noticeably less loud. 
 

Just a suggestion to improve the router. The fan is definitely still needed.
