I recently moved. Changed the SSID of the network for the new home and created a guest network. One laptop in particular is having a hard time with the new network. I have it dual boot with Linux & Windows. The built-in wifi card is unable to connect to the primary network at all. The guest network poses no issues. The strangest thing is that when I plug in an external Alfa adapter to the laptop it's able to connect to the primary network just fine, but only if I'm on my Linux instance. On windows I'm unable to connect to the primary network at all.

I'm still a networking noob. I've tried all the Tier 1 solutions I can think of like updating drivers and restarting the router. I'm scratching my head at this point. Any help is appreciated.

  @Yepsen

Most likely you need to delete (forget) that network on your computer and then reset it up. Happens a lot on devices especially Apple products.
