Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 20231122

I really like my X55. I bought 1 unit because my home is small. I purchased on Amazon two weeks ago. Last night I decided to finally upgrade the firmware. I could not upgrade through the app however I logged in with the LAN IP easily and upgraded the firmware there. One thing I noticed is that at the bottom of the page it shows X55(V1). The UPC code on the box and the satellite shows US Ver:1.6

 

Not X55(V1.6)? After I upgraded the firmware for the first time on the app it notified me another latest firmware (Deco X55(US)_V1_1.4.1 Build 20231122)

and I noticed that the firmware was from the V1 drop down TP Link firmware support page.

 

I did search some posts here that V1 and V1.60 is the same exact hardware (even share the same firmware from what I see). At first it appears confusing but after reading some threads here all is well with my X55 unit?

Hey @Wi-Fi-25,

All is fine. Version changes between x.0 and x.6 are very small changes, they are even often the result of something as trivial as a change in manufacturing location. These models will almost always share firmware releases, and if the one for your version is not available, you can usually use the 1.0 version unless otherwise indicated in the patch notes.

 

Since, the models share the firmware, the hardware version will sometimes show the overall version of the firmware instead of looking at the physical hardware version. In many cases, the exact same firmware is used between the two.

I was on the brink of returning the Deco unit back (fear it was switched in the box with older unit) and purchase it from a different vendor but glad I don't have to do that.
