Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.5

I recently added an XE75 satellite node to my already existing 2-node XE75 Pro mesh network, and it has caused the OFDMA/MU-MIMO settings to disappear. Likewise, if I unplug the power to the XE75 node the settings show up again.

Since I am using the XE75 node for wireless-only communication, I had thought it would act identical to the XE75 Pro nodes, as the only documented difference is the missing 2.5gbps port. Instead, something weird seems to be going on with the mixing of the two different device types.

  @Costa1976

Hi, As far as I can tell, I only see the following models mention the support of "OFDMA/MU-MIMO on/off" toggle  on the Deco APP in the release note:

  • Deco X50_V1.2_1.2.0_build 20231229 or later.
  • Deco X90/X95_V1/V1.6_1.2.5 Build 20231116 or later
  • Deco XE75/XE5300_V1/1.6_1.2.1 Build 20230331 or later
  • Deco XE75 Pro_V1/1.6_1.2.1 Build 20230530 or later

>>How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device

The "OFDMA/MU-MIMO on/off" toggle requires the support of both the main Deco and satellite Deco units.

I want to emphasize that missing the "OFDMA/MU-MIMO on/off" toggle on the Deco APP doesn't mean Deco no longer supports OFDMA/MU-MIMO. They still do and these features are enabled by default on the supported models.

Deco XE75/XE75 Pro_V1 has advertised the support of OFDMA/MU-MIMO since the release of the products. The option of  "OFDMA/MU-MIMO on/off" toggle on the Deco APP is not added till the 1.2.0 firmware version is released, and so does Deco X50_V1.2.

I hope it makes sense.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @bwyazel

Exactly the same here! Difference is that I added a X50 (1 unit) to the existing XE75 mesh (3 units).

The XE75 are all connected between them by wire and added the X50 through wireless to improve coverage.

Had the same problem before with v1.2.8 and was hopping that v1.2.9 would solve, which was not the case....

I discovered something new. I returned my XE75, and instead purchase the new BE63 to become my new primary unit. The same problem exists with OFDMA and MU-MIMO settings being absent. So this issue appears to involve any sort of mixing of devices families, not just the XE75 and XE75 Pro models.

  @bwyazel

Exactly!

In my case, I'm mixing the (x3) Deco xe75 with a (x1) Deco x50

Would be great if someone from TP-LINK give us a heads up on what's going on.

Same here. XE75 and XE75 pro mix. I used to have XE75 and X90 and it showed up with that setup.

Another update, I returned my XE75 and instead bought a BE63 to become my new primary node, and I have the exact same issue. Mixing XE75 Pro and BE63 units results in having OFDMA/MU-MIMO settings missing.
