Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.9

I have two Deco XE75 Pro units which I have been using without issue for a few months, but after switching my ISP, I am unable to stream Netflix, and am encountering long delays in loading Youtube videos.  All other streaming and internet access is working normally--Netflix and YouTube are the only problems I have encountered.

My old ISP is Xfinity (cable), and I haven't cancelled it yet, so I have tested moving my connection back and forth. If I switch my Deco back to my cable modem (old ISP), the problems go away and I can stream Netflix/Youtube with no issues.

My new ISP is Breezeline (fiber), and if I bypass Deco and connect using their provided router, I again have no problems and can stream Netflix/YouTube just fine.  But when I remove the ISP router and connect my Deco directly to the Fiber modem, my Netflix/YouTube problems return, so it definitely appears to be a problem with the Deco.

I have tried changing my DNS settings to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 but the problem appears to remain.

My Deco is configured in Router mode, because there is no other device between Deco and the modem. I would like to avoid using Access Point mode as that would require me to hook up a separate router between the modem and Deco.  My second Deco is connected to the primary Deco via Ethernet backhaul.

While I like the wireless mesh features, this is really disappointing and if I can't find a solution I will likely abandon the Deco altogether and go with another brand.

  @Greenclaw

Hi, How about trying to clone the MAC address of the ISP-provided router(manually copy the MAC address on the label of ISP router) on Deco?

How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco

  @Greenclaw

Hi, welcome to the community.

I think the streaming issue might be related to MTU size. It is 1500 on Deco which could be edited under Deco APP>More>internet connection>ipv4> click internet connection type and it is on the next page.

If possible, you could find whether the Breezeline-provided router has listed this information, or you could find it on your own.

How to find the proper MTU size for my network

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP I appreciate the response.

I ran the tests you linked, using the Breezeline-provided router with no Deco involved.  I confirmed that the Breezeline Router uses an MTU size of 1500, which matches the Deco configuration.

So unfortunately, it seems MTU is not the problem.  Can you provide any other troubleshooting insight?

  @David-TP Thank you for the suggestion.  You're a mad scientist David, because somehow that fixed the problem and I don't know why.

I spoke with the ISP and they indicated there are no restrictions on home networking equipment, so matching the MAC of the ISP router shouldn't be required.  Perhaps simply changing it to a new value (any value) is what fixed it.

The only thing I can think of is that when I first got the new service installed, I briefly plugged my Deco into the ISP router without first turning on Access Point mode.  The ISP router is supposed to support automatic switching between Router and Bridge mode, and the connection did seem to work, but after that quick test I disconnected it for a week or so until I was able to rewire my network to allow me to bypass the ISP router altogether.  I'm thinking that maybe making that initial connection between Deco and the ISP Router introduced some strange Double-NAT or route-caching behavior that was nullified with the MAC change.

In any case, thank you for your help!  Things appear to be working great now.
