I have notioced that every time I check the Network Optimization section the channels are always congested.  How do I keep the channels clear?

If you live in a dense populated area that's normal, especially for 2.4 GHz band.

You can check the wireless interference around you with an app like Wi-iFi Analyzer or InSSIDer.
