ErrorWe have the RE450 range extender connected to our AC1750 Router. It was working great till this morning I started having issues with the AC1750. I factory reset it and reset up the internet. AC1750 is working fine now.

 

Ever since, I have been unable to connect the RE450 to the AC1750 with the new log in information. I reset the RE450, I reinstalled and uninstalled the app, and I tried plugging it in closer.

 

but when I get through the prompts (for setting up a new range extender since I reset it), it asks to create a new password and no matter what I do, it give me a failed pop up and then a Username or Password is incorrect. That doesn't make sense since I am setting up a new password.

 

any insight?

So this is asking for the setup of a new local administrative password.  That is likely happening because the product was not fully reset.  That would be the only reason why at this stage it failed.  I would take a paper clip or a pushpin and hold the button whiled plugged in, for a good 30 seconds.  Then confrim the unit is broadcasting the default open network SSIDs if it is then you know the unit is reset and you should be able to proceed.

  @Carl I've reset it multiple times, holding the button for various lengths and it hasn't helped.

Are you seeing the default SSID on your available network list?

  @Carl Yes, and I'm able to connect to it. But when it asks me to create a new password it fails.

Okay after connecting to that default SSID are you trying to access the extender through the Tether App or through the Web UI?
