Model: Deco S4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am using my S4's in Access Point mode with an Ethernet cable connection to my DSL modem. With a PC connected to an Ethernet port on the modem I can't see all the data moving around my network as my ISP supplied hardware will not allow me.

What would happen if I accessed the second Ethernet port on my main S4? Would I see all the traffic coming through it?

It's in a difficult place to try it so I was wondering ahead of time if it's worth my while to do it.

Thanks,

Jerry

  @JerryInTellico

Hi, when Deco S4 is in AP mode, it no longer works as a DHCP server or NAT gateway so many packets might not go through it.

I don't think just connecting the PC behind Deco S4 will help. But I do see some users could deploy a customized DNS server on the PC in the Lan network, like Pi-Hole for Ads blocking and DNS monitoring. If you are interested, maybe you could Google around to see whether it is what you need.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
