Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20221102 Rel. 66085

I'm having difficult setting up my Deco X55 with Verizon FiOS.  I have the G1100 Gateway router but internet only.  I went into the G110 settings and released the DCHP Lease, turned off the G1100, disconnected the ethernet cable and plugged it into the X55.  Everything was fine for a couple hours, then it lost internet.  Everything is fine on the ONT.

Can I use the X55 as the main router or do I need to put the G1100 into bridge mode? (but that defeats the purpose?).

Thanks

  @LaRosaBob

Hi, welcome to the community.

Will restarting the main Deco X55 be able to temporarily restore the internet connection?

If possible, it is suggested to clone the MAC address of the old G1100 on the Deco:

How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco if Deco fails to connect to the internet

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Thanks for the advice. Originally, a hard reboot would restore the connection, but only for a few minutes. I went through the same steps, but kept the main Deco unplugged while I did the release on the G1100. Plugged in the Deco. So far so good. Fingers crossed.
