Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 20171220

Hello! I am trying to set a password on the extended network when the main network does not have a password. The app does not allow this and says that the main and extended network passwords must to be the same.

is there any way around that?

I am hoping to set up a smart device but the device requires the network to have a password. Since the owner of the network would rather not have a password on their network, I figured I would use this RE450 extender to both give me better signal downstairs and also allow my robot vacuum to work.

Worst case scenario, I can ask the owner to set a password and help change over his tech and smart devices, but we both agreed that we'd rather not do that.

Hi, Currently, only some range extenders support customizing their own Wi-Fi password.

For more details, please refer to Support Customizing Password and Encryption Type on Range Extenders

Best regards.
