You could, but the performance may be very slow. It is recommended to connect the extender to the router instead. Another way to help improve speed if you end up daisy chaining is to set the first extender as an access point (link) but that involves running an Ethernet cable from the router to the extender.

Thank you! I did with ethernet cable, it works, but is not convenient. I am trying to adjust router position. My bathroom fixtures might interfere. When I put my router higher, I got decent reception in a previously dead zone.
