AX50 Issues due to Intel or TP-Link issues ? Simple question

Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello all,

I did some minor searches on our "favorite", non-optimized, AX50 router in order to know a bit more why we are lacking of some key functions such as WPA3.

I've first read the following page : http://en.techinfodepot.shoutwiki.com/wiki/TP-LINK_Archer_AX50

It provides a link to a quite complete and interesting review (using Google translate if needed;)) : https://hk.xfastest.com/34886/xf-tp-link-archer-ax50-ax-wifi-router-review

then some reading shows clearly that the Intel Chipset used should support WPA3.

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/wi-fi-chipset-wav-600-series-brief.pdf

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/anywan-soc-grx350-grx550-brief.pdf

So here is my very simple question to any Tp-link expert that would mind to answer or clarify the situation : Why no WPA3 on AX50 ?

@Ben78

Well, no one here other than a Moderator can probably tell you why.

A search of this site for 'AX50 WPA3' will get you some other threads with the same question.

This one, 9 months or so OLD, might help you though, https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/224142.

There are 2 links on that page, and this note has been added to both, " Note: The WPA3 firmware update for products marked "Planned" are not a guarantee. ".

@IrvSp thanks for your answer. I already know that. It's not even planned anymore. I also hadd direct answers (available on EN forum) from TP link person that states that's there will be no WPA3 support.

So, allow me to reiterate with the WHY. ?

Like many others, it's far more acceptable when you explain the "why" to people...moreover when you check at the product tech spec, it's very confusing.

Buying an AX Wifi Router in 2020 and getting even less functionalities than 2 years old product with regular support is very frustrating.

So my assumption as of today is that TP-Link does not care about this product at all and then does not care at all of the customers owning this product.

@Ben78

I don't work for TP-Link, so you'll need to get a Moderator who might know the answer. Me, I'd use the CONTACT page (https://www.tp-link.com/us/about-us/contact/) and contact Sales. Not sure Support would have the answer.

If you had contact on EN (this one) forum, then you should have followed up with the contact I would think. Possibly they do not know either.

Heck, better than the shaft I got from Netgear. They REMOVED a feature I used for 2 years on my R8000. Reason was to add into the firmware a security suite they could charge a monthly fee for. I was forced to buy a different router if I wanted that feature or live with OLD f/w that would be lacking fixes and Security updates over time.
