What would be best for me may not be the best for you.

Things I would do:

  • Turn HomeCare and like products off.
  • Use different SSIDs
  • Use strong Passwords
  • Use the strongest encryption
  • Use default settings for the other WIFI parameters unless a change is needed.
  • Use both IPv4 and IPv6
  • Do not use QoS unless needed.
  • Use the Auto settings for channels and band width unless I need to change them for a specific reason.
  • Router placement is important (direction of route, direction of antennas, central location away from objects that can cause interference, not in closet or bookcase)
  • Give router room to get air.
  • Use good quality Ethernet cables.
  • Balance load on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands (note 5GHz is faster and 2.4 has more distance)
  • Attaching slower devices can slow the network.

@Hector1

Here is an article that talks about factors that affect Wi-Fi.

As far as the router you can try changing the channels and width to different values. Download a Wi-Fi analyzer to see what other routers are using so you can set your router to run differently than that.
