Hi

I bought this wifi router recently with the hope that this equipment will take of parental control better, but it is not.
When I set the parental control for my kids, say 5-6 pm to be ON and 6-10 OFF,  it does not turn OFF after 6 pm, when the kids are continuously playing a game.   However, it turns off only if he shuts the computer down or log back. This is going to be an issue.  Now I have to ask my kids to turn manually off every time. This completely defeats the purpose.

Also, I do not find something like I see in other routers, like ON timing like Saturday, 10-12 am ON and 12-3 pm OFF and 3-5 pm ON like that. How do I set this in parental control in this router?

Archer C4000 v3.0

1.0.3 Build 20191026 rel.13901(5553)

1.0.3 Build 20191026 rel.13901

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ned

If the device being used is an iOS or Android make sure the setting is not enabled to modify the MAC address since that is what the router uses to control the devices:

Google Pixel / Motorola / Other Androids:
Open the Settings app
Select Network and Internet
Select WiFi
Connect to the Wireless network
Tap the gear icon next to the current connection
Select Advanced
Select Privacy
Select "Use device MAC"

Samsung Galaxy:
Navigate to "Settings"
Select "Connections"
Select "WiFi"
Select "the Wireless Network you wish to connect to"
Tap the gear-shaped icon next to the network you connected to
Select "Advanced"
On the next screen, there is a menu labeled "MAC Address Type".
Tap on "MAC Address Type"
Select “Use Phone/Device MAC”

Apple iOS 14 & Later:
Ensure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi Network
Open the "Settings app", then tap "Wi-Fi"
Tap the "information button" next to your Plume network
Tap on the "Use private Address" toggle to turn it off
After, a privacy warning will pop-up

With respect to the schedules and setting different gaps, that is not an available feature. With the current settings, you can set or designate two-time indicators when it starts and stops for the day/days.
