Archer C5400X WAN Aggregration with two internet services
![](/avatar/avatar-19.png)
Hello all,
I have an Archer C5400X Wifi Router. I have a connection to a Mediacom Cable service via a Arris SB8200 via Direct Cable. I also have a DSL Service from Century Link and tried to set up the modem for WAN Aggregation. I want to use one service as a fail over for the Mediacom. However I am not seeing any failover. Once Mediacom had an outage and I lost all internet connectivity. What is any am I missing in the settings?

This is a FAQ that shows how to set up link backup on the TL-R600VPN: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2133/
You can leave the C5400X connected to the R600VPN and use the C5400X as you normally would as a router.

The WAN aggregation does not have a failover feature, mainly meant for ISPs that provide more than 1 Gbps speeds where you have two Etherent cables going to the same modem.

If you disable the DHCP server you would then need to statically assign connected devices to the R600VPN an IP which may be cumbersome.
