Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: unknown

I have an Archer A20 router that powers on, all of the LEDs come on for a brief second, and then the power light starts rapidly flashing blue. I get no WiFi signal from the router, and I can't communicate with it via the ethernet ports. It's basically dead.

The sticker on the bottom of the router with the serial number is partially peeled off because it got some tape on it, so I don't have a serial number to be able to get a replacement from TP-Link. I have no idea when the router was purchased, and I have no receipt.

Is there anything I can do to salvage this router, or is it pretty much beyond hope? Any back door method I can try to reset this router, or is it most likely a hardware problem that cannot be resolved since I don't have a serial number or receipt?

Thanks!

I would try a factory reset. Hold the reset button in for 15 seconds and see if you can get into the router using a connected PC via Ethernet cable.

@ArcherC8 Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have tried a factory reset. Holding in the reset button with a paper clip does nothing. The light continues to flash rapidly, but never changes status. No response from the ethernet port. I can never get an IP address from the router.

Not a good sign... You can try the 30-30-30 procedure https://www.lifewire.com/hard-reset-rule-for-routers-3971318#:~:text=%20How%20to%20Perform%20a%2030-30-30%20Router%20Reset,and%20hold%20for%20another%2030%20seconds.%20More%20 If that does not work, call TP Link support but I think they will confirm that it is bricked. Generally happens if a firmware load was interrupted or a power hit.

@ArcherC8 Yeah, I tried the 30-30-30 as well, and it did nothing. I have already talked with TP-Link Support, and they said there's nothing they can do without a valid serial number. Looks like I have a new doorstop. sad

Thanks for the help.
