Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.9

Hi Tony, beyond talking about disappointment, I think that all of us who have bought an AX50 are interested in knowing if in the future it will add WPA3 to its capabilities.

We find it very strange that the AX50 is the only model in the AX line that has not received and does not plan to receive WPA3.
Thanks

@Tavocampana

Please see our post regarding the matter: https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/224142

If the device is not listed on the respective link then it is not in the works.

@MKFlyers2K Good for you for taking it with humor.

Please start and give us your theory as to why the Ax50 with enabling hardware there are no plans to implement WPA3 and the AX10 with a chip that Broadcom specifies on their page that only supports WPA2 is listed as "Planned

@Tavocampana

Read through my past threads you'll see. Lol

But I will say for the first time in these forums the AX50 in terms of hardware CAN support WPA3 with no issues. I've done a lot of research on this product hence why I bought it. Knowing that hardware wise everything checked out. TP Link said it was "coming soon" with a firmware update to provide that feature. And even TP Link posted on FB that it indeed was coming. I spent HOURS of research. Now I simply have a router of most of what I wanted, dished out 160 bucks for it, when at the time of I could forsee the future would have dished out another 30 bucks and got everything I wanted. I don't care so much from the OneMesh being dropped but others have voiced their dislike that it too was taken away from this product.

Funny thing about this router as well. Try setting a 5ghz channel to DFS. It won't stay (yes I know about radar interface and I can confirm none exists in my area) AND won't hold the 120mhz setting on DFS. So yea. I'm hoping TP Link just does what's right on what people bought it for and fix other issues as well.... IE the DFS issue listed above.

@MKFlyers2K

I use 160MHz form day one without any issues, I use a channel from the lower spectre UNII-1(36-48) to avoid DFS. Upper channels from UNII-2e(100-144) use DFS and have a 10-min TDWR scan time.

Allways remember that 160MHz eats up 8 adjacent 20 MHz wide channels!

@-King-

Thanks King. I originally meant to say 120MHz. Yea I have the 120 setting because of the bandwidth needed to ensure the super fast bandwidth. Just a pain with this product.

@Tony Could you guys (from TP-LINK engineering division) at least answer why inferior models like AX10 and AX20 are on the list of possible upgrades for WPA3 while AX50 is not?
Planned obsolescence by any chance? Your Facebook post says that all WiFi 6 models are eligible...

AX20 IS INFERIOR when compared to AX50, what the? Please, give me a valid awnser, would you?

AX50 Intel hardware is capable of WPA3 but TP Link is not giving clear reason why there's no firmware supporting it.
I already post links to the Intel product used inside the AX50 which clearly states WPA3 capabilities.
Never  ever tp link again as far I am concerned. As soon as I can get enough money I will switch my router to a more professional company and customer oriented.
I opened a ticket weeks ago. Every two weeks I,get an answer saying : "sorry the delay, do you still have problems ?"  I then answer simply "yes, please help". two weeks after I get the same message, i answer the same, so forth and so on....

Thanks TP Link. You‘re the best.
