Model: RE505X
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have an RE505x and a Archer C7 v3.  I bougth the 505 to do mesh.  I did not realize v3 doesn't support it.  I just changed my network name to be exactly the same as my routers and it seems to be meshing.  I only have one network name and my signal does not drop where they used to.  Is this ok?  Thanks in advance.

@rseg80

OneMesh takes advantage of specific wireless protocols that help a device move throughout the network. In your case, you do not have an actual mesh. However, what is happening is your own device is determining where to connect to. If it seems to be working out for you then that is great.

Should you ever come across an issue where you have a weak signal when you are physically near one of the devices, then the device may still be connected to the further one. You can then see if there are threshold settings in the device itself that can be modified.

@Tony thanks for your reply.  Let me see how it goes for a bit.  I thought I was outsmarting the system but thank you for clarifying on what was happening.
